The Libby Commutation

It’s stirred up a storm of commentary in the media and the blogosphere. My legal analysis of the issue is pretty much worthless, since I’ve been concentrating on other things since it came out, but my gut reaction is basically “big deal.” The only people is probably really makes a huge difference for are Libby and his family. That being said, here are two opposing takes on the issue.

Law prof. Douglas Berman, at the Sentencing Law and Policy blog has several posts on the commutation. (See here, here, here and here).

Lawyer and baseball blogger Baseball Crank has a post that I think is a pretty good summary of the issue.
