Wow, That Was Fast

Apple held a press event where they announced new iPods and pricing.

The 8GB iPhone drops in price from $599 to $399.

Introduce iPhone touch, an iPod with the same touchscreen controls as the iPhone including WiFi and a wireless iTunes store, without the phone (one glaring omissions may be the lack of an email application).

Introduce upgraded iPhone nano with twice the storage, a new form factor and video playback.

The venerable iPod is now the iPod classic, with a whopping 160GB of storage and 40 hours music playback for only $349.

The price drop on the iPhone happened faster than I expected. Figured it wouldn’t occur until sometime after Christmas.

I’ll take on of each please.
