Rush Letter for Charity

Rush Limbaugh is delightedly tweaking the tails of some Democratic Senators by auctioning off a letter they sent to Clear Channel Comm., his broadcast syndicator, complaining that Rush denigrated members of the military who complained about the war in Iraq. The whole thing was a pretty blatant misrepresentation of what he said on his show a couple of weeks ago, but Harry Reid decided to make a big deal out of it and denounced Rush in a speech from the floor of the Senate. About 40 other Senators signed this letter of protest. So Rush announced that the letter would be auctioned off and the proceeds donated to a fund that provides scholarships for the children of members of the military who are killed in Iraq. The price has been steadily building all week, but today it jumped to over $1 million. Rush said he’ll match whatever the final amount is. It’s like the adage about starting an argument with someone who buys ink by the barrel. They’re guaranteed to have the last word.
