“Enjoy it while it lasts,” is Rich Lowry’s take on Mike Huckabee in his syndicated column. From some of the soundbites I’ve heard from him throughout the (already long) campaign season, I discounted him because of his second-tier standing among the candidates and some odd-sounding populist rhetoric that seemed to belie a serious difference of opinion on fundamental principles. Lowry points out what he thinks is Huckabee’s serious flaw, the lack of a true fundamental direction, describing him as a “rhetorical roadshow.” He says the real part of the campaign where he may make an impact is as a nominee for Vice-President to someone like Giuliani.

Apparently you didn’t know who was endorsing the Huck. Enough said.
