Huck and Heck

Joe Carter at the Evangelical Outpost makes an abrupt shift in the battle for the Republican presidential nomination, jumping off the Fred Thompson bandwagon and throwing his support behind Mike Huckabee. He’s joined by Between Two Worlds blogger, Justin Taylor.  My concern with Huckabee continues to be that he lacks a serious foundation or purpose and instead will just be a Republican version of Bill Clinton, telling people what they want to hear.

. . .

In more pressing news, the Astros hired a new director for scouting, Bobby Heck. He comes from the Milwaukee Brewers organization and carries on him the aroma of their recent resurgence, which has largely been fueled by home-grown talent. I thought the selection of Ed Wade as general manager was a depressing vote for the status quo, given his track record and the other directions that were available. Hopefully this choice reflects a better direction.

  1. If Mike is as good a president for the Republicans as Bill was for the Democrants then every Republican should be very excited by him…he has to finish in the top 2 in Iowa first.
