Gmail Tricks

Because I have some of my filters set to immediately archive certain mail, they skip the inbox and show up as unread in a particular category that I’ve assigned. Most of the time this is fine and I can read them in their own category. However, at other times, I want to quickly go thru all my unread mail without clicking a bunch of different categories. The All Mail view gives me both read and unread items, but I’ve discovered if I enter “in: unread” into the Search Mail box it will return all unread items in any category. I bet you could probably setup it as a separate category if you wanted.
